What’s your favorite part of bitting into a candy bar? For me it’s the nougat all day, everyday. Think about Sneakers, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers. I’ll even take it back a bit further, does anyone remember the Mars Bar, Zero Bar, or the Baby Ruth (my all time favorite)? Brings back memories right? Well, just like how a candy bar can evoke feelings of nostalgia and bring back memories, a cup of Nicaragua Jinotega coffee can do the same and even transport you to a different place entirely. How so?

First, let’s take a look at the flavor profile of Nicaragua Jinotega coffee. The coffees of this region are known for their full-bodied, smooth, rich taste. They are balanced by a hint of acidity and a bright, clean finish. Sounds almost like a fine wine right? The flavors are unique to this region and are unlike any other coffee in the world. The rich, earthy flavors of the coffee can be compared to the rich, creamy flavors of a nougat candy bar. Both are indulgent and satisfying, with a complex flavor profile that’s both bold and subtle.

Now I mentioned you’ll be transported to a different place. When you drink a cup of Nicaragua Jinotega coffee, you are immediately surrounded by the lush green landscapes of the region of Jinotega. The flavors of the coffee take you on a flavor journey, and you can savor each sip as the flavors unfold in your mouth. No matter whether you are a coffee connoisseur, a tea lover, or even a skeptic this coffee profile is sure to win you over. You’re senses will experience the flavors of nougat, roasted nut, malted chocolate, balanced with a bit of bittersweet chocolate – you’ll be close to a sensory overload in all good ways.

Let’s elevate our coffee experience a bit. Drinking a cup of coffee from the Jinotega region is a sensory experience that should involve you taste, smell, and even sound. The experience begins way before you take your first sip of this amazing coffee. The sound of the coffee being brewed, the aroma of the coffee as it steeps, and then the taste of the coffee as it hits your tongue all contribute to the overall experience. It’s even better than your favorite candy bar, and probably healthier if you’re drinking your coffee straight 😂.

Eating your favorite candy bar while tucked away in your favorite book is a comforting experience. However, drinking Nicaragua Jinotega coffee will give you an experience like none other. Visit the La Bastilla Coffee Estates and read up a bit on their coffees. Then head to a specialty coffee dealer a pick up a few dozen pounds, you won’t regret it! Until next time, keep elevating your coffee experience.
